I have an HP Pavilion model p6724y and it's max ram is 4gb. Is there a way to upgrade the computer to accept over 4gb or do i have to replace the entire tower?
Someone should check this first but from this website it says you have a max of 8GB on your motherboard http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/h-i41-uatx-eton-motherboard-specs-005h715/
Thanks for the quick reply. I forgot to mention I have windows 7 home premium which i believe I read supports up to 16gb ram. Also, before I read the limitations on HP's support website I purchased a 4gb ram stick and installed it. When I right click on "computer" and click properties it now shows that I have 6gb RAM installed (1 2gb factory stick and 1 4gb replacement stick). Does this mean my computer is working with all 6gb or is it still limited to 4 as HP states?

If it says that 6GB are installed then it should be utilising all 6

Ok, thank you, one other question, if I'm playing a game that requires 6gb ram and using a graphics card that requires 2gb ram does that mean I need 8gb ram to run the game?
