So it started last week when I woke up and turned my computer on and I found I was stuck at detecting arrays window I eventually got passed that (not sure how but I did) and I was able to use my computer not once did it freeze. The next day I turned my computer and it was stuck at the Windows XP loading screen, I waited for a long time but nothing happened even the lights of my computer didn't flash. So I have a few backups of the system on Caddy Hard Drives (I believe there called) I tried them all not any of them worked (I think unless I did something wrong) except for one that was a backup of a different PC which loaded up fine. (Unfortunately I was unable to actually use my keyboard or the internet despite being plugged in so I was unable to virus check my hard drive) I then used my original Master drive (The one that I couldn't get into) Then allowed me to get onto it and now works perfectly fine, I then got a message about a registry that was missing and was successful replaced. Everything works fine except for thee freezing. I'm unable to virus scan the C Drive (it freezes) I also can't chkdsk (freezes on 4% on stage 1) nor can I revert to last restore point. Overall I have no clue what to do

Kinda difficult to answer. Can you get a hold of a hardrive and install an OS on it and if it doesnt freeze then its probably a virus or something thats filling your CPU with jobs.

So you reckon it's a virus? I do have a hard drive with an OS on it. It was the backup of another computer I had that used Windows XP and that worked fine so you could be right but if it was a virus how comes it only does it when I'm away from the computer for at least 15 - 20 minutes? Forgot to mention that When my original C drive was no longer the master I was able to chkdsk the process would complete. It's only when I make my original C drive the master that it does not allow me to chkdsk

Hopefully it is a corrupt file, I have a few Windows XP discs around. I'll try fixing it and if that doesn't work probably have to reinstall. I'll message back if I get it working
