I have seen a bunch of posts of people lagging and stuttering a lot with gfx cards in SLI, but I haven't seen any posts about people lagging with a single card. I have a GTX 680, 16 GB RAM (1866 MHz), and an i7 3770k. I am getting severe (and seemingly random) freezes or massive framerate drops (80 down to 20 or lower).
I don't know what the issue could be coming from. I have double and triple checked that all my drivers are updated, but there is nothing that helps. I have to turn down the graphics to the bare minimum to make it even close to playable. Even that is filled with problems of its own. These issues are present not only in multiplayer, but singleplayer and even the menus.
I know my card has PLENTY of juice to run this game maxed out and my pc runs battlefield 3 & 4 smoothly between 60-70fps. This is plain ridiculous.
If anyone has any idea what the issue could be, please let me know. I will post my detailed pc specs below:
Windows 8.1 64-bit
i7 3770k
EVGA GTX 680 (reference)
ASUS Sabertooth Z77
Corsair TX 750
16GB RAM Patriot Intel Extreme Masters (4x4 @ 1866 MHz)
Corsair H60 water cooling system
Cooler Master HAF 912 case
ASUS VG248QE 144hz Gaming Monitor
OCZ Agility 3 128 GB SSD (OS only)
1TB Toshiba HDD 3 GB/s (Storage)
2TB Seagate HDD 6 GB/s (Programs here)
