Required Memory / Bus / ROPs for Full HD gaming

Hi,

I'm about to upgrade my current 7660D (APU) graphics, thinking of these two cards (3 actually) because they're all the same price in our local store at the moment.

I want to use the new card mostly for 1920x1080 (FHD) gaming.

While its pretty obvious that the GTX660 is better for games overall, my biggest concern is the GTX660 has a lower Mem Bus (192-bit) than the 7850 (256-bit), also the GeForce has lesser ROPs - 20 vs 32.

Is that important according to FHD gaming?

Also it is not clear to me if should I pick the 2gb version or 1gb is clearly enough for running action games in 1920x1080? (I have read some topics already that state 1GB is far enough for Full-HD but others recommend 2GB). The Sapphire 7850 OC has a 2GB version for a few more euros.

After all, which of these 3 cards should I choose for playing games in Full-HD resolution?

660 is more powerful than a 7850.

But if I were you I would go for a 760 or a 7870, I think it is crucial to do so.

I got that 660s are slightly more powerful then 7850s for common games but I heard somewhere that --FOR FULL HD ONLY-- the low 192 bit membus is bottlenecking the card and it may change the result if you compare the 192bit 660 GTX to a similar card with 256bit membus. Normally this is not a problem if you play games lower than 1920x1080.

7850 OC has 256 bit bus and also more ROPs. Does than mean if this card performs better on Full-HD while 660 GTX performs better if you play on lower resolution?

Some more deeper technical-centric opinion would be nice than just X is better than Y.

Actually it still performs better than 7850 at 1080p. At same level with 7870. But you know what, go for the 7870 or 760 if you want good value for longer period of time. I would chose 760 over 7870 if it were me.

Even at higher res it is better than 7850. However as you can see, a Gtx 760 will be the best buy in the end.
