It looks like a decent budget build, except for the power supply.

It would be a huge upgrade coming from your old PC bro. I'd say it would play all the modern games at 1080p, with medium settings.

Corsair CX500 if it must be as cheap as possible.

Just my 2 cents if its strictly for gaming then go AMD save a few bucks and spend the the money on a better GPU. The prices of the 7950 and 7870 are dropping fast and hard.

If you don't mind using your previous case, that is if it is a universal case, you could get a pretty nice build for about 570 bucks.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: HIS Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card ($169.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $571.93
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Also a cheap cooler would be a cheap way to get a lot more performance out of it.

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($35.98 @ Newegg)

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($117.97 @ SuperBiiz)

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($158.97 @ OutletPC)

Thanks guys for all your help and replies, but I need to lower my budget...
I am going to pick new components, and reply as soon as I am done.
(btw, I am keeping my case)

The problem is that your case most likely won't support a different motherboard. Most cases that come from companies like HP, Dell, etc. don't have universal motherboard standoff holes, they have ones that only fit HP or Dell motherboards. It's a sad attempt at getting more money.

That's a really low-end solution. How much can you afford, it might be possible for us to find a better setup.

Okay, what budget do you suggest? And again, I can only buy from that website. (btw, that website is the cheapest from them all)

That 600 dollar one in my signature will last you a long time. The lowest I would tell you to go is an AMD FX-6300 or the i5-3570. Only because in my opinion if the system will not last you very long it's not worth it. If you drop down to some of the lesser AMD processors your seeing a little bit of a price drop and sacrificing a lot of performance for that little bit of money. Intel not so much, but if you were to go Intel I would really only suggest the i5-3570k, it's a beast and won't have any problems.

Okay I hear you godfish, can you maybe make me a part list, using this website. Sorry, but in South Africa, that's the cheapest computer online store.

The mobo is more expensive than the one in my 600 dollar build because they don't have the asrock 970 extreme4, case and PSU are also different. Tell me how this goes with your budget, because I don't know how much that would be in USD.

I do not need a case and a optical drive, I got both already brand new.

Don't buy in the A series get an fx you don't need the integrated graphics that you pay for with the a series

Or get an Athlon x4 750K, if it's available. It's an APU with the integrated graphics disabled, and a lower price tag.
