I recently purchased an MSI GTX 780 Lightning (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) and then the price dropped, can I receive reimbursement from newegg?

No. Newegg doesn't have price guarantee.

Possibly if they had the iron egg policy on it at the time and it is less than two weeks. Read THIS then call them.

why should you? never buy anything before a new release is due, there is always a chance of a price drop.

No, they would just refund the difference.

While full details are HERE it has to be a lower price within 14 days of purchase. And the big sales days coming up are specifically excluded.

I submitted a price match form on Friday 11/22/2013 and was notified today that it was rejected due to the price being lower that the cost to Newegg. I am being offered a $29.99 gift card in lieu of the $240.00 price difference.

Even if the item had a "IronEgg Price Guarantee" there is no way of knowing what their actual cost is and they simply deny the claim. GL with that :)

I dont think so but it all depends on where you bought it from. But no usually they dont do that unless they have some sort of price drop guarantee like ive seen some companies have. For example if the price drops in less than 24 hours after you bought it you can get some money back.

Not so, the item was from a qualified competitor, not on sale and in stock. It was Amazon.com and they can trump anything by simply claiming that the cost is lower than their cost. I have no way to verify their cost so it's a great way to deny a claim.
