I'm looking to get a graphics card and it has come down to two of them:

ASUS Radeon R9 280X R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 Video Card - 3gb

EVGA GeForce GTX 760 FTW 04G-P4-3768-KR Video Card w/ EVGA ACX Cooler - 4gb

How does the memory size effect gaming. I was going for the GTX 760 but some say that the 280x is the better buy. Help

Solution

The memory bus on the 760 will be far too small to utilize 4GB of Vram. Also others are correct, the R9 280x is what you want, it has a larger memory bus and can utilize all 3GB of Vram. Including more graphics grunt. The 760 is not even the same tier as the 280x. Even with 2 monitors, although running windows on the 2nd wont really effect graphics end, more like the CPU end.
This is a no brainer: R9 280x,

760 - 200 bit memory bus
R9 - 380 bit memory bus (+ More powerful and future proof)

I plan on gaming on high settings but i will be gaming with one monitor due to budget. I will get a dual monitor but thats all i will get. Will i still get 80-100 Fps on Bf4? CSGO i'm not worried with that not getting over around 200+

Dual monitors for gaming would be awful, your centre of vision is either where the Bezels are or to the left, its uneven and horrible. Is there a reason why you cannot plan a 3rd monitor? Its a way to upgrade and expand.

I'm not gaming on two different screens. Most i'd have is one game on a screen and facebook, steam etc. Not playing two on the same. Thre monitors just sounds to much to me. Two seems about right. I've used to and i can barely have both screens with something. Would be it be better to go to the 4gb at that point?

Fair enough, I doubt you will hit over the 3GB mark with a 1080p monitor but anything can happen and 4GB is obviously going to be more future proof for the unpredictable game Market.
