Hello, everyone.

I would like to improve the graphics performance of my computer, as I just started playing Battlefield 4 (after playing BF3 for a long time). As I noticed, I just can’t get the same framerate on Ultra settings as I did back in BF3.

I use only a single 1080p monitor, so I am not intending to rise to 4K gaming, neither triple displays at 2560x1440.

So, the golden question is: should I crossfire with another HD 7870 or just sell mine and buy a R9 280X?

Before you ask, I have an Intel Core i7-4770K and a 650W Corsair TX2 PSU.

I would really appreciate your opinions and suggestions.

Thanks a lot,

R9 290 (non X) is more than enough for 1080p and will not have crossfire issues that may acomidate 2 7870s. The R9 without a doubt, and you can crossfire that later on (Although I HIGHLY doubt you will need to. On top of this having one card is less stressful than running 2.

Also wait for Non reference models as they currently run hot.
