I have just completed a new build using an AMD FX 8350, Coolermaster EVO 212 and the CPU temps with speed fan are at 53C reaching 57C at one point when playing a game - The lord of the rings - War in the north maxed out all settings.

I am also running 2x Saphire 7770HD GHz Editions crossfired and these are 45C and 56C respectively. I have an older PC case but have added some 80mm fans to maximise airflow.

I am using an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 and have set this to power saving rather than overclock.

Are these temperatures dangerously high for a non overclocked system running a game? Should I be worried?

Thanks,

Ickle

Thanks JookD

Is that all three temps are within safe limits, both GPUs and the CPU?

AMD/ATI gpus tend to run hotter than nvidia and those temps are still low. As long as its below 90 (and you are WAY under) you'll be fine.

So yes, both CPU and GPU temps are fine.

Now I am worried as CPU sits at 53-57 c during intense scenes or after 30 mins gameplay. Takes a few mins but once game closed it drops back down to between 30-40 idle temps. I expected my hyper evo 212 to be better than this. Not much difference to the stock really, maybe worse bit a lot quieter.

MAX Temperature for FX series is 70 deg C...

And @ICKLE97116084 the temperatures are good with the HyperEvo 212... As with the stock cooler you would get temperatures 60-68 deg C... The temperatures are fine and not to worry above... Yea you should worry if the temperature exceeds 70 deg C...

And Graphics Cards are meant to face high temperatures but still you have a good temperature and not to worry about...

No need to worry unless your temp exceeds 70 deg C...

Keep it below 62C unless you honestly know what temp you're seeing.

i wouldn't say that anything below 90c is directly harmful to your CPU, but anything over 70 degrees could slowly deteriorate the silicone, it will not last as long as it potentially could.

but you could buy an aftermarket cooler if you really are that concerned, the noctua NH-D14 is supposed to be the best air cooler on the market at the moment.
