I noticed that I have 2 Desktop icons for Battlefield 4, one reads Battlefield 4 (64bit). So I assume launching from this icon I would be playing BF4 in 64 bit. When I check this Icons file location it is located in program files x86 which is not where a 64 bit program should be. Origin is also in program files x86.

My question is, is BF4 really running in 64 bit when I launch from the 64 bit icon? And do I need to uninstall and re install BF4 and Origin both under program files in stead.

I am running Windows 7 64 bit

Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried searching using different tags and did not see a question (or relevant title) such as mine.

right, but the BF4 folder is located in program files X86 and nothing in program files. is it REALLY running 64 bit? I run from both icons. The only thing I notice is less crashes with the standard icon...could be a coincidence seeing how the games off to a rough start to begin with.

In task manager it just reads bf4.exe. It launches from battlelog in Google Chrome which is .exe *32 and Origin is .exe *32 as well. I checked file locate and it brings me to program files X86. I'm assuming its running in 32 bit. Is there a performance or graphics difference between the 2 that I will notice? I am running it at 1920x1080 on ultra with an avg of 60+ frames.

You can install a program in any old made up folder you want, so the fact that it is in Program Files x86 does not determine whether or not it will actually be ran as 64bit. For instance, I put most of my games (not bf4) on my HDD, which does not have Windows installed on it, and therefore no program files folders. I think they are just separated to make it easier to assume whether or not they are 64 bit. It is interesting however that it seems that you crashed less on 32bit version. Sorry for late response, hope it helps some

False. I went to check in my task manager to see what it was running at when I used the 64 bit shortcut, and it was 32 bit. the game launches from battlelog, perhaps in chrome(32 bit) it can only launch the 32 bit version. I have yet to test this.
