Non-existent account on Welcome screen

When I power up my pc, it fails to logon in automatically using a non-existent account "u1". I'd like to 'reset' the welcome screen so it contains only those accounts that are actually usable on the machine. Win7 Home Premium.

Solution
Gotcha.
The only thing I can think of is a bug in the OS. That's a strange one. Something didn't get deleted along with the account info.

The only way I know of to get it to boot right up to an account, is for it to be the only account.

Perhaps I need to provide more info. The account "u1" used to exist. I created it for testing purposes. It used to show up on the Welcome screen as one of the accounts I could login to. I no longer needed the account, so I deleted it along with any files associated with it. When I use my account "ray" (with admin rights) to look at what accounts are on the machine, "u1" does not show. What shows is mine (ray), guest (off) and privileged server. I'm not absolutely positive which account is being used to try the login when I power up because it doesn't show one. It used to use my account (no password) when I powered up to login, but now all I get is a message about the wrong password and I then have to use the "switch user" facility to make use of my account which does let me login. I can get the Welcome screen to show the "u1" account as one of those I can use but there isn't any "u1" account on the machine at this time. If I do a switch user after the initial error message from power up and then do a switch user and then do it again, I get a Welcome screen with the non-existent user "u1" as a choice. What I need is a way to completely rebuild the Welcome screen! Any thoughts on how to do that? Or any thoughts on how to get win7 to use my account (ray) as the account to use for autologin when I power up the PC?

I have a similar problem. For some reason on startup, I have an admin account (Name + e-mail address) and then an account that is just my name. It always attempts to boot to the one that displays just my name on reboot which does not log in automatically. Instead it displays my name above boxes for username and password. I think this is some kind of local account that I don't remember making, nor do I ever want to use, but cannot delete. I cannot tell if they are the same accounts or not. If I log out of the Admin account, only the admin is there, but on startup it gives an option of 2 accounts for some reason and never allows me to default to the pin from the admin.
