ive just bought 8gb of avexir DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory 2x4gb sticks but my pc wont boot when i put both sticks in the same coloured slots on my board, i have to put 1 stick in the blue slot and one in the white for it to work but this is only giving me single channel mode,,, my motherboard is a gigabyte ga-ma790xt-ud4p with the latest bios version,, my 2x2gb sticks work fine in the same coloured slots running dual channel mode

Are you trying to run all 4 at once? - try shutting down, remove all sticks , reset the CMOS then put the new ones in slots 1-3 (same color) and give it a try
no im only trying to rung the 2 new 4gig sticks,, at first they wouldnt work at all untill i cleared the cmos but still if i put them both in the same coloured slots the pc doesnt boot and i can see only 1 stick has power as there is lights on the ram

Might try reseating and going in the other two slots, sounds like you may have a bad slot or channel

While possibly not dead maybe dying - can run memtest on each sticks individually to see if a problem with either one (4-5 passes normally will tell) or possible sticks are just slightly mismatched
