I am not sure if I should upgrade my Processor, Video Card, or RAM as my computer is having a tough time running new games Like Battlefield 4.

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core Processor 5600

Video Card: AMD Radeon 6800 series

and 4.00 GB of RAM

CPU, easily.
Chances are your graphics card is already being bottlenecked.

I had a 6850 with a fx-4100 and the 4100 bottle-necked it for most games. I would get a fx-8320 if I were you. 4gbs of ram is fine.

He's going to need to upgrade his RAM anyway, thats an AM2 chip so it on an AM2 board, which only supported DDR2.

Well i don't know. I might come close to maxing the ram but i doubt the ram will bottle neck the system. He should just pick up a cheap mobo and an 8320 with some ram I guess, but I thinks that's more than he wants to spend.

Hey thank you for your answers. So I need to get a better CPU. I also need to grab a new motherboard. My budget is around 500$ so hopefully that should be enough. Do you think the CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB 240-Pin RAM would be good with a new board? Sorry I am pretty new to computer terms and such. Thank you guys again for your answers.

With this setup you can easily over clock your cpu and gpu, but even without the overclock you can expect 60fps average on ultra preset at 1080p!

On a mid-range card from two generations ago?

The platform upgrade will be a marked improvement, but I would not say as far as Max settings at 1080p on anything intensive. I wish my 3570k and 7970 could handle that at 60FPS.

Lol dude i have fx 4100 clocked to 4.2 and a 7950 and i get 55 fps average on the setting listed above, even with the cpu bottleneck.
