Solution
That 430W PSU is good enough for your system and that 550W would be overkill since that system isn't really upgradeable for modern games.

If you are not going to upgrade your PSU, the 7750 is a viable choice if your PSU has over 16A on the +12v rail

The best card for your situation would be the Radeon 7770 assuming that your CPU is something around the level of an E5700.

The 7770 should play BF3 comfortably at medium-high settings at 1080p. Planetside 2 is a different story as it's a very CPU intensive game, a dual core would hold you back in that game, low medium settings should be manageable..

This should do well, the PSU is $20 after rebates

Granted, you could get the 550W PSU and use it with a new system in the future as well.

You're not going to be future proofing that old LGA775 machine.

Yeah it's a good deal so he could get it and use it in a future build as well, a new system build would be recommended if op wants to play any upcoming modern games, that's the only reason I'd recommend that.

I agree that the 550w for that system is quite overkill. Also, with how current games goes.. i believe youd be disappointed with the 7750/7770... go for the 7790. Its very efficient/powerful card. For the small increase in price there is a big jump on fps boost.
