I have an old pc in the cupboard that I will give to my Brother, he doesnt game so it will do him just fine.
E6600
2.5GB DDR2 533Mhz
nvidia 800gts 640mb
Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI

Heres the thing , I have some 800Mhz sticks that I can add too the m/board , would there be any issues if this was the setup memory wise.. ?
2gb 800/2gb 800/2gb 800/1gb 533

--------
Plus, just out of curiousity can you answer this...,
The abit m/board booklet has the following info...

Memory
4 X 240-pin DIMM sockets support max. memory capacity 32GB
Supports Dual channel DDR2 800/667/533 Un-buffered Non-ECC memory

It states the highest speed ram that it can run is 800.

I had a look on crucial.com and it states that under compatible memory , that 1066mhz will work on the board ???

Part Number: CT2KIT25664AA1067
Module Size: 4GB kit (2GBx2)
Package: 240-pin DIMM
Feature: DDR2 PC2-8500
Specs: DDR2 PC2-8500 • CL=7 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-1066 • 1.8V • 256Meg x 64 •

Is the above a mistake on crucial's part ?

Also the booklet says the the board can run cpu's at speeds of 533/800/1066/1333

Im no expert , but should memory speed and cpu speed match, if so , would the board handle memory speeds of ddr2 1333mhz ???

Thanks for any opinions !

Well, actually memory configuration will follow the lowest speed of memory available..
So, that's mean, your system memory now run at 533 speed..

add same speed of memory, it's much better if you add 800 mhz memory, not 533mhz.

Yes, by overclocking

Ddr2 1333 doesn't exist.
The highest speed of ddr2 is 1200mhz.

but, can this board handle it..? Yes, in overclocking mode..
