So I had a old ATI 5770 video card lying around and thought I would change out my moms ATI 4830 for that one. So I unplugged the 4830 and put in the 5770 and then plugged into the onboard video and restarted windows. Well nothing happened and my monitor never loaded so I tried the video card and still nothing. I tried everything and the monitor never loads. The old video card DVI VGA HDMI resetting CMOS even different HDD's and nothing. I cant even press Ctrl+Alt+Del and make the computer restart. Any help would really be appreciated since it isn't even my computer and now it doesn't work.

hmm... you might have to look into power requirements. possible the 5770 draw might bring it over the top. Also, you shouldnt plug into the onboard video. Plug the video directly into the card since it'll take priority over the onboard.

I have tried to take the battery out of the CMOS and changing the jumper on the MOBO to reset it that way also. I have the 4830 but that doesn't load any thing either. I forgot I also tried another power supply and it made no difference. Also what does ESD mean?
