What is the quality of my psu

I have a dx 4200-11 computer with a 300 watt psu from FSP GROUP, haven't changed anything to this day

I plan on getting the Geforce 630. I've heard that your computer can shutdown if your psu isnt "high quality," so I was wondering if I need to upgrade my psu to get this graphics cards to work.

GT 630 minimum power supply is 350W, so you definitely wanna upgrade. I've heard, at least in the past, FSP were ok if you didn't push load toward the max. Just snag something like this: http://www.microcenter.com/product/399979/Builder_Series_CX430_430_Watt_ATX_12V_Power_Supply it's hard to beat $20 for a decent budget PSU. A Corsair CX series definitely a step up from your OEM FSP unit.

It doesn't need to be high quality but a decent quality will at least supply the power it says it will. And fsp falls under that decent category. You will be fine with the psu you have but the 630 is not good price/performance. A 6570 is around the same price, uses less power and is better performance.

I don't know where you read a 630 needs a 350w, but the nvidia site says 300. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-630/specifications Though I still wouldn't go by that. You need to take into account every person's specs.

So if i get a 6570, I will be able to run it with my current specs no problem?

If you want to be really sure, check the 12v rating on the psu label.
