switching ide to sata hard disk

i was using an ide hard disk
foe day ago a i brought new sata hard disk
but i cant boot from the sata hard disk
when i tried to di that an error shows something related to apci controlling and update bios
my bios version is wolfdale1333-d6777
please help me

We need a bit more information.

What motherboard do you have - maker and model number?
What Operating system do you have on the old IDE drive? Which version, if it is Windows?
You don't say anything about copying or cloning the data from the old IDE drive to the new SATA unit. Did you do that? How?
Answers to these will help us tell you what to do next.
