does the asus sabertooth gen 3 actually support pcie 3.0? and will it cross fire two 3.0 gpus or just relagate them to pcie 2.

i understand pcie 2.0 is not being fully used up yet but i want to build a gaming rig (amd for sure) that will last for some time, i have the sabertooth gen 3 unopened but its a very confusing board as the reveiws for it are so drastically different. will it support 3.0 without a cpu that has a 3.0 controller? is it better off i just sell it on and buy a different mobo?

from what ive seen the boards capabilities are more to do with the owners tech saviness, ive heard of alot of problems but other people love it. but im still confused as to the cpu 3.0 controller and whether the pcie 3.0 is just a gimmick. it doesnt matter either way as long as i can cross fire the r9 280x. from the reveiws ive read asus have set up the pcie lanes strangly so id like to know the score before i start this build. really im waiting to see whether steamroller fxs come to market in early 2014. and im guessing pcie 3.0 isnt that important at the moment. is it better to run 2 x16 2.0 slots or use the strange split lanes asus have on the gen3? some reveiws say pcie 3.0 is only worthwhile on in cross fire where as other reveiws ive read say that the gen3 will only benifit from 3.0 with a single card set up because of the way the lanes are set. or am i just talking complete ****.
