I have an L226WTQ Flatron Wide monitor that has the most peculiar problem. This webpage, for example, looks fine with the monitor tilted forward (I'm not good with degrees but I guess 10-15) and it looks find with the screen flattened out as well. However that is because this webpage has bright colors. If I have a picture up that's has shades of black and white to it (which also pertains to color as well), or a video game, or anything of that nature I have to tip the monitor forward in order to see the screen clearly. I guess another way to describe it would be if I had the monitor sit in a normal position it would be as if I had turned the gamma down and if I tipped it forward I turned it back up to normal. I've searched as much as I can on the internet and google, in it's infinite wisdom, seems to think I'm referring to rotating my monitor or something. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this or how I could go about repairing it?

but even TN-panels should be at their best when viewed straight on and not at an angle.

Take a look at these test images, if there is something wrong with the monitor you might see some unusual behaviour when viewing these. Tn-panels will have a funny effect on at least some the images but yours might behave differently...
