The best you can get for that board is the 8350, the best AMD CPU around without going into the 9xxx series.

Or you could get an FX 8320 which is the same chip just clocked lower at stock which you can easily change, and get an aftermarket CPU heatsink too for less money.

Ive currently got the FX 4100 but the 8350 looks like a good one to go for. Also justi f you know these are my pc specs could you tell me what I could upgrade to make it better please :)

CPU: AMD FX 4100
GPU: HD Radeon 7770 1GB
HDD: WD 500GB 7200 RPM
RAM: 8GB 1600 mghz

I concur, if you go up to an FX 8350, you wont feel the benefits because the GPU is too low of a card.
I would try to buff both CPU and GPU up a few levels.

If that is your total budget, I would suggest waiting a bit longer and saving up more money.

What's your motherboard? Need the model number to make sure its compatible with the CPU.

Your CPU is a slightly weak quad-core. The CPU is bulldozer architecture which is worse than piledrivers (4300/4320/4350/6300/6350/8320/8350). <--- Those will perform, better than what you have now.

The GPU is low-mid range, so it could do with an upgrade at some point. RAM is fine HDD is fine.

Yhhh at the point when I boit was a budget CPU so did the job but I think its time to upgrade :)
