So awhile back I got a second HDD everything was fine until one day the PC just froze and sisnce then that has gradually started happening more and more so my question is why is this happening.
the 160gb HDD is very very degraded in HDD sentinel it has 21% health and on this HDD is were windows is located but the PC freezes only when the second one is connected its a 320gb 98% health in HDD sentinel , I want to reinstall windows on the 320gb and dump the 160gb but could this be the 320gb making the problem , im not sure what to do any help would be appreciated .

Well the 160gb HDD sentinel says that it has 75 bad sectors and the 320gb has 1 bad sector , but its still strange that the PC freezes only when the 320gb is connected .

If you disconnect the 320gb drive, how long can the system run before it locks up. If it doesn't lock up after a few days, I'd suspect the 320gb drive is the problem.

However I still wouldn't feel safe having the OS on a drive that shows 21% healthy. If it were me, I think I'd just get a new drive and clone the 160gb drive onto it and replace the 160gb with the new cloned drive.

Thats the thing if the 320gb is not connected the system runs without a problem only when the 320gb is connected it freezes and I think the freeze is just on of the HDDs stopping to work when I turn on the PC after it froze without turning the PSU off and cleaning it out of left out electricity the PC wont turn on , I can hear the HDDs sound but after a few seconds from one of the HDDs it goes silent im suspecting thats the 160gb because i think it has mnore than 75 bad sectors .

Ohh sorry I ment the only way the PC would start after a freeze is to turn it off and the PSU and discharge the left over electricity , but I did disconnect the 320gb for 2-3 weeks and now I connected it since I wanted to reinstall windows on it but it seems my DVD doesnt work so I was left like before windows on the 160gb with over 75 bad sectors on it and it seemed that everything was working for like a week until today in the morning the 320gb didnt start/load with windows the first time and after restart it worked both were recognised and working but about an hour later the PC froze but after that all day no problems. At the start the PC started to freeze when I was recording (im recording on the 320gb) also sometimes at first them almost every time the 320gb wasnt loaded in windows like nothing on installed on that disk worked because its like there wasnt another HDD , but when I turn on the PC it shows that it recognises both HDDs

Does the event viewer show anything useful? Your dvd is out too? I'd suspect there is an electrical problem with the 320gb drive, but if your dvd is out too, your motherboard may be failing.

If it runs fine without the 320gb, I'd leave it disconnected before it harms some other part of your computer. I'd still consider a new drive for the OS too. If possiblem try the 320gb drive in a different computer. Other than that, I'm out of ideas.
