Hi everyone,
My problem is I have no audio on my windows 8 machine.
Some background, yesterday I was going to install Battlefield 4 - so I plugged in a portable dvd drive into an unused usb port on the front of my case in order to do it. The machine immediately crashed. No BSOD. The machine then rebooted and a message was displayed on screen saying that all the bios settings where reset.
The machine took a few tries to get on from there, a few BSOD's etc.
Eventually the system got back up and running, and everything seems to be fine - except that I have no sound.
Here's what I've done so far.
1) Installed new audio drivers.
2) Tried another set of speakers on the back, and tried a set of headphones in the front.
3) Used sfc/ scannow in the cmd prompt to repair any corrupted files. Some files where shown to be corrupted and couldnt be fixed, I don't know if this would affect the sound.
Here is the motherboard type:
MSI G43 Z87
Is there anything you guys can think of?
