CPU bottlenecked after my new GPU

I recently bought a radeon hd 7750 GPU then I launched crysis 1 and its lagging on the lowest settings max 30 fps , CPU is at 70-90 pct (My CPU is intel core 2 duo e4300 1.8ghz) So im thinking to buy a new CPU.

The problem is that I wonder If my new Intel core 2 duo e6700 2.66ghz wont bottleneck ?

What are all of your specs? You are using the e4300 now, but you already have a e6700?

The e6700 is considerably better, but you know you can overclock the crap out of those Core Duos right?

Win 7 64 bit
PSU 400W
Resolution 1400x900
Mobo p5-lv 1394

yes i know that i can overlock them and i tryed in bios but it wont let me do it , saying overlocking failed when pc is booting. Also e6700 2.66ghz is the best processor that my mobo can handle and nope i dont have it yet, im planning to buy it. Well i have two options: Either to buy this e6700 processor but im not sure how it will work it may still lag or take my HD 7750 back to the shop and get my money.
