I have a computer a friend had built for me a few years ago, and I need to replace the power supply but I'm not sure which one to purchase because the one I have has been discontinued.

I don't overclock it or use it for any hardcore gaming or anything.

This is my build:

Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks! :)

Thanks a lot! I'm just about to order the Antec. I figure I'll stay closest to the same wattage and brand. Sorry this is a good few weeks late! I really appreciate your reply! :D

No problem it's a quality PSU made by SEASONIC.

As a matter of fact, I purchased the Antec and I received it in the mail today. Everything fit except the plug for the CPU. The one in the motherboard is a 4x4 (my previous PSU had it all in one piece) with (I'm sorry for how stupid this sounds) four square sockets, diagonally. The one in the PSU has two pieces, so two 2x2s. Only one of those 2x2s is compatible with my motherboard. Is there any way around this, or have I just wasted $90?

Everything fits just fine except that bottom one. Am I missing something?

Yes , they should go on that connection , clip both on.

They are 4x4 because some boards use just 4.

So the shapes of the little pins shouldn't matter? Can the pentagonal ones slip into the square sockets? I just don't want to force it and break it, or turn it on and fry something. :(

Thanks again for your patience and replies! It's very much appreciated!

One more thing before I hook it up!

The D pins on the PSU connector will fit inside of the square pins on the motherboard, right? So I can hook up all 8 of the pins without fear of the thing exploding?

You can see where the clips on the ends clamp over the 8 pin motherboard socket to lock on.
