Hi everyone,

Just set up my new gaming rig:

Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 270X 2GB Overclocked Video Card
Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core LGA 1150 3.4GHz CPU Processor
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile CML8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
ASUS H87M-PLUS Motherboard
Thermaltake SMART 550W 80Plus Bronze Power Supply
Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive/SSD
Thermaltake Frio Universal CPU Cooler
Fractal Design Define R4 Black Case
Lian-Li CF-1412A 140mm Blue LED Fan 1200RPM x2

Everything was running swimmingly until the GPU install. Boot wont show any display when GPU is plugged in, however if i boot with it not installed it will boot windows fine through iGPU.

I switched the primary display to PCIE but that doesn't seem to help...

I've flashed the updated BIOS to the motherboard and still not luck. At my wits end now and desperately need help!

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Well if the monitor was connected to the card and the card had PCIe power from the PSU and not displaying then most likely DOA card.

Okay so i switched the GPU into my other computer, works. So its not a DOA... need some more help! :) is it a bios side setting i'm missing? or a driver issue? Could i try use the GPU in another PCIE 3.0 slot?

Having had a similar problem, I pulled out the motherboard and tried my 280x in the other pcie slot (2.0). Due to the size of my case it physically couldnt fit while in the case. Once out, I could test it in the secondary slot. No issues. Apart from my pc sitting on the desk. I need a new case unless I can figure out why the card wont run in the pcie 3.0 slot.

Hey mate! So how I fixed this issue was just by switching the primary display to igpu, then installed the GPU into pcie 3.0 slot. Booted windows, downloaded the new drivers from amd, the drivers installed correctly (didn't want to install when I didn't have my gpu installed). After that I switched the hdmi cables across from mobo to gpu and rebooted. Worked. (Might have been a rookie mistake from me somehow - plot twist, I am a rookie :p)

Sounds like a plan, I must admit the one thing I haven't done, is set the igpu to primary... If I can get it working on the PCIE 3.0 slot, that gives me increased performance AND I can put the insides back into my case.... double bonus!
