I am looking to put together a gaming desktop... the system will be used for 99% Counterstrike 1.6

I do take my gameplay very seriously and sometimes go for stretches of 100+ per week for months on end.....so I need a system that will play the game flawlessly...

I need to achieve 100fps at all times

Budget range around $800

I am looking for something with an Intel I5

Parts not required in build cost: keyboard, mouse, monitor, or speakers

I am also looking for the best 24" gaming monitor available in the $250-$400 range?
( was looking at the 120hz to 144hz lines, but completely open to suggestions?)

I am in the USA, Thanks!

CS 1.6? I had an old Packard bell system from '04 that could run it no problem. Also, if you have listed that you don't need a monitor, why suggest that you need one? Anyway here is one build with a 24" monitor. You don't need a 120 - 144Hz monitor, unless you are editing -

Im willing to part with my i7-2600k, p67 sabertooth, 900w power supply, and 12gb 1866 ram. I have an old mid tower case. all you would need is gpu and a drive. New for this build your looking at $330 for the cpu, they dont make the p67 anymore, $150 for the power supply and the 12gb ram for ~$120. so total $590 plus whatever you value a solid mother board at. I currently have this in my system with 2x 2Gb GTX 670's and it kicks the crap out of the games I play and I play in surround on 3 21" monitors. If your interested let me know.

I will need some suggestions on a gaming monitor, and I noticed a big difference when I had my BenQ XL24210T vs. my regular 2ms LED.

This, except CS 1.6 can pretty much run on anything.

Some issues. That CPU cooler is not good and pointless because n overclocking will be done.

Change the PSU to an xfx550 for better quality.

Budget was limited, but still the Hive series from Rosewill has had some very nice reviews. Plus, that CPU cooler was added because the Haswell chips get rather warm under load, due to cheap soldering and thermal compound on the dye itself.
