I just bought a samsung Evo 840 @500GB and tried an internal installation of it yesterday. I had no problems installing and it recognized the drive under windows device manager (administrator). When I installed the driver software for Samsung Magician (some sort of utility), it said my boot drive (Samsung 830 pro @128GB) was running at optimal capacity however the Evo wasn't...it said I needed to connect it to a Sata III port for max performance. I checked the cable twice and saw indeed it was labeled as a Sata III cable. I'm trying to find the Correct port on a P8Z77-V premium w/ thunderbolt. Anyone know if this is a problem with any of my hardware or just user error? Thanks in advance.
*I'll try and upload a picture later today.

Gray slots native SATA 6GB Navy blue SATA 6GB on Marwell controller. Marwell has to be enabled in UEFI/bios.

The correct port is one of the Gray Intel 6Gb/s ports (SATA6G_1 or SATA6G_2).
See page 1-7 of your motherboard manual for the location of the ports.

Also double-check that the port your SSD is connected to is in AHCI mode.
