Would a GTX 760 bottleneck my i3-2120

Specs:
Intel i3 2120 @ 3.3 GHZ
nVidia Geforce GT 640
6 GB Ram
1TB 7200 RPM HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium
400w PSU

I'm thinking about upgrading to a GTX 760 but would that bottleneck my CPU too much or should I go quad-core first?

It will not bottle neck at high settings (gaming), may bottle neck slightly at ultra settings.

But it's always better to go with a decent quad core.

What resolution will you be using?

You will not see the full benefits of a 760 using an i3 2120, but the combo will handle all games at 1080p with ease, but mostly because the 760 is massive overkill for 1080p. If you are gaming at a higher resolution, then your i3 will not be enough anymore.

No. Get the gpu first. The i3 really will be ok for a while.

Obviously an i5 would be better of course, but I think you'll be surprised at what your i3 is capable of.

What monitor(s) will you be using?

GT 640 is NOT a gaming card mate!
GT 640 + i5 will yield you no performance at all!

It's better to grab a graphic card first, as you have an i3, which will handle it decently!

My lil bro uses an i3 2120 and a GTX 660ti and he maxes just about every game @ 1080p. The 660ti is overkill for him, and the 760 would be even more so.

I will ask him about those specific titles, but he told me that he gets over 60fps in every game.

What IAMEXTREME means is that there WILL be a bottleneck, it will just be 65fps instead of the 85fps an i5 would give you. Still perfectly smooth.
