Hi everyone,

I really appreciate it if someone can help me to find the right vide card fro my system.
I have HP Media Center m7267c Desktop, ATI Radeon x600 256 MB DDR memory (current), One PCI Express x16 graphic.

For more information, here is the full specification
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00379616&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=1154490

Mistakenly I bought Sapphire Radeon HD 5450 1 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-I/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card 100292DDR3L, but it did not work, may be because it is DDR3, not sure.

Thanks in advance for your time and help :)

Thank you for your responses. I really want to stay in the $30s range, if it is available. Do you know what is the difference between what you offered and what I bought, they seem booth have DDR3, 1G, and PCI-Express x16. I am just wondering why the one I bought did not work!!

You are most welcome ;)

Your mother board does support the DDR3 cards. The 5450 should have worked.

The 7750 is the most powerful card that does not require a PCIE power cable.

7750 vs 5450
463% more Memory bandwidth.
392% more Texel Rate
392% more pixel rate

When I plugged in the new card , the fan was very loud but no screen came up. It says in the box it required 400 Watt Power Supply or above. I looked at the PS and it says:
DC output 400W
Combined power on +5V AND +3.3V rails not to exceed 150W max
Combined power on 12VA, 12VB, 5V rails not to exceed 365W max
Continuous total DC output power shall not not to exceed 400W max

Does this mean anything?

Before you try a new card, find another computer to test your current card in. It may be bad, but it may also be your PCIe slot or the power supply.

A 400 watt power supply is way more than what should be needed to run a 5450. Even a much faster 7750 will run, as long as the power supply and PCIe slot are working properly.

Make sure you follow the instructions for setup, some need you to disable the onboard video. Check your cable connections also.

Thanks for your contribution. The computer works fine with the old card, and I do not have another pc to test it out. I looked again at the motherboard specification and all I see is DDR2 type. Do you think this might be the problem, the video card is DDR3 and the motherboard DDR2?

No, that does not matter, they are different components.

Thank you guys for all the help. I guess I am going to request a replacement for the video card. If the 7750 should work, the 5450 should also work!! may be I got a bad one!!

I will keep you updated :)
