Hey guys, so I need a new router. My old one my ISP provided is not good, it's got terrible wifi, it's a few years old, and refurbished. So for my new one, I need something that can cover 1460 square feet, or 138 square meters. I am also an avid gamer, so I need something that can support that. My internet speeds are about 25 Mbps down And 2.5 Mbps up. My prince range is anywhere up to 100 bucks! Or if there's a good one on sale for like 110 I could do that too. I saw this on newegg, what do you guys think? http://m.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122326
Is there better for that price? What do you guys recommend?
Thanks in advance :)

The ASUS RT-N56U is one of the fastest throughput routers and also has a great 5GHz radio. HERE is an independent review where they note its ridiculously high throughput. The ASUS is the #1 router in its class.

Thanks for your reply :) so my question is, would either of these two be okay? and out of the two, what's the better choice? I see one is more expensive, but that doesn't make it better...

Looking at those two Linksys ones, I realize that they don't have Gigabit Ethernet... Not sure if that's important or not, but a quick google search tells me the PS4 has Gigabit Ethernet, so I think it would probably be smart if I got a router that could support that.

Gigabit is nice for transfers within your network, but not too important if you primarily use your connections to reach the Internet.

I would lean toward the Linksys E2500-NP since it is dual band and can really help if you live near a lot of 2.4GHz networks.

Okay, so then I think my FINAL question is, which would be best for gaming? I currently have a ps3, and will be upgrading to ps4 as soon as they're in stock again... and I am a hardcore gamer. What router would work best for me?
Thanks again man!!

For gaming, the real key is low latency, which means using an Ethernet cable if at all possible. If you must use wireless and you have any neighbors you may well need the 5GHz.

You can download a free wireless analyzer inSSIDer from HERE and run it on a computer with a wireless adapter. Look under the network tab and it will show all 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks around you with signal strength and channel.

Yup I will be running a wired connection, I'm just wondering if any of the routers are better in any way for gaming? If the ASUS and the Linksys one you recommend are equal for Ethernet, then the next priority is wifi... If they both will do the same for my gaming, what gives the best wifi coverage? I mean range wise.
