I recently downgraded to Windows 7 and now front usb ports are not working. Went through online forums & suggestions - device mgr..look for hardware changes, power, uninstall, update drivers. There are no drivers or information listed for the SM Bus Controller or the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller. I called Hp and the tech support said I voided my warranty when I changed my operation system.

Get the AMD chipset drivers from here: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/13-9_win7_win8_32-64_sb.exe
This will include the SM Bus and USB drivers you are missing.
