My Pc Freezes after 10mins or so after booting. Once or twice it has shown a blues screen error message System-service-exception 0x0000003b other times just a black screen and PC does nothing , have to switch of at mains or power off ( is this harmful? ) I have run mailbytes nothing thrown up! deleted duplicated devices in "device manager" fragmented, basically all the things I know how to do.! Is there a fix for this problem or should I get it looked at professionally !! Any help advice appreciated.

try booting into safemode with networking and download and installing CCleaner and have it scan your registry. while your in safe mode you can also check the system log and post that info on here of the last crash.

Hello... with the Power Plug out of the wall... open your computer and Check and re-plug power connections, and Data connectors.
remove the Video card and Ram, clean their connectors with rubbing Alcohol and Q-tip/Swab... Re-seat them back into the Motherboard.
Power Back on and look to see that all fans are turning as they should, and the computer re-boots.

I have ccleaner already installed, do I still need to run it safe mode?
How do I do a memtest?

safe mode would prevent any other add-on programs from initiating during start up which should allow you to narrow down the problem.

Even though I did as recommended I now to seem to have pop ups taking over telling me to download "fix programs! and all sorts of tests/help for my pc, help! Checked add and remove uninstalled anything I didn't recognise, checked add-ons in manage add-ons nothing suspicious, ran malebytes again and deleted what was thrown up, but still getting them is there anything else I can do to get rid ??? :??:

Hello... save any important data work information on a USB stick... and do a fresh install of your Windows version... use "custom install" option, and delete all partitions using "Drive options advanced"
I feel it is the fastest and best option at this time, with your PC experience... like a fresh new start in life, you can learn from your previous mistakes in downloading bad 'free programs" and "sites" to your computer... and start using your computer agian.
you will need to check your USB stick for virus's, malware, etc... before using any of those files.

Thank you for your help -As I have not downloaded anything new on my pc since April-ccleaner has been installed for over a year or so and I have used it frequently with no problems at all, these annoying ads have only just occurred after trying to sort out my pc crash problems in safe mode !! I'm not sure if I am confident to as you suggest Ironsounds, I have all my personal data saved on a usb hard drive anyway and Photos etc. on a mem stick, would taking pc back to manufactures settings cure the problem? Would like to sort it myself, "self satisfaction" but perhaps it's time for an expert to sort it out as don't want to cause more problems!!! ps it crashed this morning after about an hour, restarted and been fine since except for all ads!!!!

It really sounds as if you have a virus. I guess malwarebytes isn't picking it up because the virus is probably hiding itself from the program. Try this free online scanner and see if it finds it and cleans it. Just follow the directions. :) http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_global/online-scanner

I find f-secure finds a lot of viruses that other programs miss for some reason. I have run into a few nasty viruses on friends computers that Norton, Mcafee, and Windows security essentials didn't even detect but f-secure did and removed them.

If this doesn't work I would say a fresh install is likely needed. If your comp is an HP, Acer,Toshiba, etc... you most likely have a backup partition that will let you go back to default factory settings. It would put the computer back to the day you first picked it up. There are different keys to hit before windows loads to get the proper recovery mode going. It won't be a windows system restore at all. So if your on that screen trying to do it, you are in the wrong place. Let me know your manufacturer and I'll tell you what button(s) to press at start up.

Many thanks, I have tried you recommendation. F secure found one mailbytes didn't find, unfortunately it's not the one causing the ads ! It's called Java/majava? as you say, it removed it but problem still exits. I have found manufactures settings before in boot up recovery, but can't remember how I did it.. My PC is an Acer . all help we be much appreciated.

This is a guide on how to recover from the recovery partition on your HDD. http://www.geekpolice.net/t7449-acer-system-recovery-partition-hotkey-instructions-erecovery

I will warn you. THIS IS A WIPE AND REINSTALL OF WINDOWS, SO BACK UP YOUR IMPORTANT DATA FIRST!!! You will be back to the select language screen starting out, just like the day you first brought it home, unless you paid for the setup. Don't worry if you did though. All you have to do is pick your country, language, network, time, and date. It is all really simple to go through. :)

PS: This process can take a few hours to go through, so don't worry if it seems like it may be hanging. It all depends on the hardware you have in your computer for how long it takes.
