Hello,

Im running bf4 on a i7 2600k 8 gb a p67 gd55 mb and a msi r7950. Latest drivers amd beta.

Had expected to max bf4 out without msaa with a decent fps of 60/90. My fps now and then goes red in 40's especially on paracel storm. Call of duty ghosts same shit...fps of 90 but scoping it goes down to 30.

Do I expect to much of my system? Cpu still good ? Gpu? Should I be able to max the games out with this rig? If not what should be the best settings for this system for bf 4? Tips?

That rig should be able to run those games on ultra exceptionally well. The fps you are getting is probably the most you will get out of that build. I would say upgrade your ram to 18 and then get a better video card and you should be golden.

i'm having the exact same problem

i have searched and found others with the same. its BF4. i have a brand new sapphire R290X, twin frozr ii both doing it

I think the twin frozr II was just shitty which is why I bought the 290x. Come to find out its doing it on both, its just much much more noticable since I run at 50-90 on the 290x @ 2560x1440 w/ 2x AA whereas its like 20fps all the time with the twin frozr ii

Quite bizarre is this, i have pretty much the same rig but an FX-8350 8 core CPU which is slightly better than yours, other than that , pretty much like for like and i can run these games on max settings and get 60+ all the time, not once has it fallen below 60 other than when running other games at the same time. and still get high 40's

40FPS isn't at all bad, most PCs will struggle to get that on low settings, but you're right if it can hit 60's sometimes why not all the time? right.

a) I'm not saying your CPU isn't powerful enough because it should be.

B) You don't need any more RAM as Duhmentia advises man that's why you bought a 3GB dedicated Graphics card, it is easily enough.
C) the only thing i can suggest to help point you in the right direction is, when you FPS has dropped, check your CPU/GPU temperatures to make sure there okay, you could be suffering from heat issues without knowing about it, symptoms sound similar to what i have experienced with bad fans in the past, everything would be fine but at a certain point everyday i would get FPS drops, after months of research trying to figure it out it was my virtual server's updates which ran each day at the same time, it was when running games and then when the updates kicked off it got too warm and i lost FPS.

maybe worth checking that man.

let me know if theres nay issues.

also

both games are brand new, they're bound to be buggy, you may find in the next few months it all settles down and you haven't had to do anything and it works a dream,

let me know how you get on.

i7 2600k destroys your fx 8350...
this is windows/driver/virus issue
reinstall new windows and get windows 8 if possible

in some areas, yes it does destroy it, but for his rig, my CPU is more at home.

all im saying is i have no problems so even if his CPU is better, his problem can tbe the CPU so that ones thing out of the equation :)
