gtx 770 vs amd r9 290

CPU: 3570k

Let me throw in a bonus:
If r9 290 wins, would it be worth it to get the latest amd cpu for better performance?

AMD cards don't go better with AMD CPU's, it doesn't make a difference, plsu the 3570K is better than anything AMD has. 290 is obviously hugely faster than the 770 but I personally wouldn't touch it until they come out with proper coolers, the reference design is a total joke, 95C and hairdryer noise, also throws overclocking out of the window.

wait till 290s with custom coolers come out, the stock one is pretty rubbish. End of November maybe...

Think its worth getting then over the 770? power draws about the same, once msi has a twin frozr, its quiet and cool. performance, well, some benchmarks argue on that point.
