Hi, This is my first question around here and I´m 200% noob, my question is
Does conecting 2 Hardisk from the SATA 3 plug reduce transfer speed?

What I mean is from the mother board a SATA3 cable slpits into 2 ends, if i connect each end to one hardrive will it reduce the transfer and speed? Considering they are 7200 RPM each.
Thank you

Solution
No, it will not affect transfer speed.

I am not sure how it is being split into 2 ends, since SATA is a 1 to 1 cable, and if you look at the motherboard the cable is probably going into 2 separate ports.

7200RPM drives don't get anywhere close to saturating a SATA3 pipeline.

I've never seen a SATA data cable spilt in to two cables. Perhaps your looking at a SATA Y power cable that is split from 1-4pin connector to 2 SATA power connectors. I've seen SAS cables which can be split from 1 to multiple heads, but not SATA data that is 1 to 1 connection.
