Hello there.

I'm currently trying to downgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7, and I've enabled legacy mode and disabled secure boot and so on.

However, when I actually get to the install part where I'm going to install Windows 7 with the stick, i get the error as following: "A required cd/dvd drive device is missing."

I think I have figured out what the problem is though, I just dont know how to solve it.

The thing is, this ASUS notebook only has USB 3.0 ports, and seing as a default Windows 7 boot.wim dosn't contain USB 3 controller drivers, it isnt being recognized.

So how can I possibly downgrade the ports of some sort?

Important to note that I can't enter the system anymore, as a faulty install attempt wants me to restore from an earlier saved checkpoint, which I do not have.

Please help.

Hello... you need a USB 2 or 1 stick... you have to make the USB stick "BOOTABLE"... DID you use the FREE "Windows ISO to USB/DVD" utility? and check the option "make bootable"?... Use another computer to complete these requirements... Set you Bios Boot priority to the USB stick it sees that you inserted, save settings... Re-boot and you will be fine.
