battlefield 4 running only on medium on asus

I have an asus rog g750jx-tb71 laptop and can only run battlefield 4 at medium settings. if i run it any higher the game becomes unplayable. I have seen many people run the game at higher settings using slower machines, so is there any configuration i can change on my video card(geforce gtx 770m) to run at a higher setting? also, has anyone tried overclocking this kind of laptop?

The slower machines likely have a better graphics card or lower resolution.. Not much you can do.

It is like having 1 GTX 460 in a desktop - not great for BF4.

processor: intel i7-4700HQ 2.4 ghz quad core haswell
video card: nvidia geforce 770m 3gb
hdd: 256gb samsung ssd
Memory: 16gb DDR3 1600MHz RAM (1.35V)

the slower machine i looked at had a lower tier video card with only 2gb ram. i believe they were running at 1080p.

also if it helps, i run the quality check in bf4 and no matter what i set the quality to it always says my rating is "poor" and advises me to reduce my graphics settings.

i dont know if its truly able to run at max settings but my guess is it would run medium to high depending the settings it gives for visual. if it was me, id upgrade the graphic card drivers.. usually i use the one from nvidia's website just because it'll always be newer. new drivers sometimes puts a good performance increase in games (talking sometimes 13-26% depending what the drivers did) personally i think its hard to have a lot of games to run a game high settings at 1080p on one graphics card especially laptops unless they knew they were going to have a decrease in fps (on most typical budget to mid high end cards) hope that helps

It is the way of the latest/greatest video game - even high performance desktops will have challenges on these games.

You can't expect that much power from a laptop compared to a desktop. A GTX770m is not the same as with a GTX770 in terms of performance.

I own the same computer. i can run the game in ultra because i overclocked the graphics card. I used asus GPU tweak. The game boost up by about 40fps in Ultra. My computer runs fine but after a while of playing bf4 my computer starts having graphic error then a game crash. If you overclock your computer its at your own risk.

Any overclock needs to have balance. If you go beyond the cooling limits - you will have problems. A milder OC may be a better choice.
