my second hard drive (vista) shows up in xp boot menu as second option, but when I click to boot from it, it still boots to the first hard drive (xp.) How to fix???

Fyi .......xp was in the machine and I pulled vista from another machine and added as second hard drive. Both drives show up correctly in explore, my computer, device manager and disk management. any ideas why when I click on the vista it still boots to xp???

You can't just pull Vista from another machine. You have to INSTALL it to the new machine, then the drivers, programs etc.

In fact, you have to do the PROPER STEPS when doing dual-boot.

You can Google, but I think it goes like THIS:

1. Boot the VISTA install DVD
2. Choose the Vista drive (not the XP drive. WARNING.)
3. Install and Vista should have setup dual-boot.

*Vista may be activated to the other machine however so even if it installs, it may not let you Activate it.
