Hi,

For the past couple of months, I've had a problem with my graphics card. It would constantly show a faint static display. My graphics card is an Asus 7870

I got my drivers from AMD's official site. I read in a forum that you need to have the manufacturer's driver. So, do I need to go on the Asus website and use their drivers? I think this is what is causing my problem :/

You only need the manufacturers driver for LAPTOPS as they sometimes modify them for screen brightness etc. Possibly some All-In-One PC's as well.

You would use the latest from AMD directly.

As for the "faint static display" that sounds more like a hardware defect with the card OR the monitor but I'm not exactly sure what you mean.

Thanks for replying.

It's hard to explain, but it's only happened with this card, my monitor is fine. Whenever I would launch games, a faint static/buzz would be in the video. It's only very visible when the monitor shows dark colors. This happens with all games and can be quite annoying. The GPU is connected properly and the latest drivers are installed. My theory is that when the graphic card is being pushed as it's getting hotter, the fans speed up making it vibrate meaning poor video feedback...haha, I don't know. My graphics card never goes over 60 degrees.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated :)
