hi...
I am having an old Samsung SyncMaster 740n Monitor which works fine...
It is portrait view and has a max resolution of 1280x1024..

I recently bought a pc with the following:
Intel core i5 processor
4 GB RAM
DH77EB motherboard
................
The motherboard has a DVI, HDMI, and a DP ports......

I used a DVI to VGA cable to connect my old monitor...
Then came a need to connect the VGA cable to my LCD TV.....
But connection failed and an error message showing in the tv "wrong input signal"
I need help to solve this problem...

I am not intending to buy other display cables.. So I need a solution for this VGA to VGA connection problem...

THANX......................................

Unless the DVI port supports Analog signal out it will not work. It has to be a DVI-I port from the video card otherwise it does not output a Analog signal and the VGA will not work period. From what I could google that board should support DVI-I so make sure the correct resolution is being selected.

yes,
the board supports DVI I..
I am not getting a display on my tv when I connect the cable from my monitor...
the monitor is portrait view and the tv is landscape view....
Will this affect the display on TV when I connect the same cable from monitor?

You're connecting the monitor to the TV or the video card output to the TV? The connections on the monitor are INPUT only not output. Make sure you set the resolution properly for the TV and also the refresh rate before you connect it to the computer.

As my motherboard has DVI-i, HDMI and DP ports, I used a DVI-i to VGA adapter to connect my old monitor.......
Then came a need to get the display on TV....
So i removed the VGA cable from monitor and plugged it into the VGA port in the TV....
I did this so that i dont want to buy another cable for tv...
I got the display on my TV when windows booted up...
When the desktop appears, the display goes and shows wrong input signal...
