Hello!

Now I know there are many threads on this topic but I did not find one this specific. I bought a UD3 REV 3.0 from Canada Computers after them telling me it was REV 4.0, I specifically asked for 4.0 because I knew the 3.0 had many problems. Before I bring this board back I just want to make sure that will the REV 4.0 correct the problems 3.0 had? I intend on running a FX-8350 on it and peoples are saying that the REV 3.0 is throttling the CPU (which I do not want) and it gets insanely warm.

Main question is will the REV 4.0 of this board fix all the problems with the REV 3.0? And could the 4.0 handle a 8350?

If you guys have other motherboard suggestions around the same price point which is a well rated board, and has similar specs.

Thanks!

I happen to have the Rev 4.0 of the GA990FXA-UD3 for a few months already with a FX-8320, as far as I have seen I have no issues at all, CPU clock gets its turbo to 3.9ghz when it has to and then goes down to 1.4ghz when idling.

As for temps I'm getting around 14ºC on idle and hitting 44-51ºC on full load with games like Sid Meier's Civ V and Path of Exile. (Using a Zalman CNPS9500A cpu cooler though)

The only "problem" I had (the problem was me heh), is that when I first installed it instead of using the drivers that came in the CD I downloaded them from it's website, my mistake was to download from REV 3.0 and everything worked except USB 3.0, so just gotta be careful enough to download the appropriate drivers and avoid yourself from reinstalling everything for a second time :p.
