First time poster here, I just recently build a new computer. My graphics card is an ASUS HD 7870. Now I don't know a whole lot about computers so I had some help with picking everything out. I had a spare TV lying around so i figured that I would be able to use it. It had one of the blue, analogue plugs. But, my TV isn't compatible with my card ,it has 2 DVI (white) output plugs but no regular analogue (blue) output plugs. I know there are the 2 different kinds of cords, and my motherboard has on available for each, but when I was at my cousins house, he plugged his monitor into the graphics card, and it was able to show up on his monitor. I am just wondering if I can use just a regular analogue. Or am I going to have to get a monitor with a DVI plug?

If it helps here is the link to my graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121649.

Sorry if anything is wrong, not that technical. Just trying to get into it all. Any help is much appreciated!

Solution
You can purchase a DVI to VGA (blue) adapter , from ebay or any computer store. You can then connect it to TV or monitor that has the VGA input (blue) until you get a monitor with DVI
DVI is a better choice in input due to giving you a digital signal and better picture quality.
