Is there any point to this at all? I'm considering to buy a VG248QE but a lot of eye-candy and new games run under 70 fps with a gtx 560.

Also I need advice about what to buy, I lined up some substitutes.

Asus VS239HR
Asus VX238H
Asus MX279H
Dell U2412M

Most days I spend 8-15 hours a day in front of the monitor. 50~% of this are games, 25~% movie and tv shows. I play a lot including games like CS, DotA2, but I'm not hardcore competitive, I enjoy games like Skyrim, Civ 5, Deus Ex just as much if not more.

You see my problem? I'm unsure about the picture quality of VG248QE but an IPS monitor could be crippling in FPS games like CS:GO. Although I'm not sure it matters since I already play with 70ms internet latency anyway.

Please advise and feel free to add more substitutes as long as the price is under 350$.(Because the monitors cost about 150% where I live)

PS: No access to Korean screens :D

If your games are not running much higher than 60FPS, then there is not much of a point to getting a more than 60Hz monitor *unless* you plan on SLI or GPU upgrade in the near future (which I personally think you should, if possible).
For a 60Hz monitor, I'd recommend the BenQ RL2455HM 24.0".
Res: 1920 x 1080
Resp. time: 1ms
LED: Yes
60Hz
No built-in speakers
DVI: 1
HDMI: 2
VGA: 1

This is my favorite monitor so far, no regrets and I'm running a GTX 660 Ti capable of much more than 60FPS in most games, but I don't mind 60 (though 120 is better, and noticeable).
Verdict: with your GPU, I would definitely not get a 120Hz monitor, however if you upgrade to say a
660 (and above) or 700 series card, then sure it's always better the more you see.
