hi guys!!

i will sell my actual pc and buy another similar with some improvements... the most important is the PSU, of course and the case can pass away...

the specs could be:

cpu: phenom ii 965 X4 @ > 4GHz (i dont trust on FX, still much cheaper than any i5 and not so much performance gain) or FX 8320
mother board: asus or gigabyte 970 chipset
RAM 8GB 1600 corsair or kingston
HDD 1TB WD dont remember the model, SATA III 64MB cache
GPU: HD 7790

i do my maths, and as far as the MOBO cant suply beyond 140W the pc wont waste beyond 350W at full load...

my past PC is almost the same but with an unlocked phenom II 555 and oc'ed and a HD 7770 vapor x
i used a CM power extreme plus gen 1 500W, though people from here told me it wont last a month for gaming and could destroy my pc without mercy, till now theres no problem, even with some blackouts and ours of 100% loads...

but now i see in my local store a raidmax PSU, supose to be a 500W (20A + 20A on 12V rails) plus a "real" 80 bronze certification...
i dont know if its a better option than my old 500w EX gen1 PSU almost cost the same, also a thermaltake TR2 500W wich is on my budget but has no 80 bronze, also a low end branded PSU, you will say

for the cases
CM elite 430 s
TT commander ms-i white... also is theres a better "cooling" from the standard version??
TT v3 AMD edit

dont recomend me the classic CX600W
cose here is at 85USD almost :S

well everyone... the problem is shipping and the taxes... the prices rises A LOT, as i said a regular CX500 for example, in my local market have ridiculous prices, i think for the shortage....

well the point is the fact that i have been satisfaced by the cooler master extreme power plus 500W, but is old and is hard to find them new, the power EX2 are comon but i think are much worse, so i think the raidmax looks good and its certified as bronze (the EX gen 1 have > 80% on some loads bt not on all cases) so i think could be a good oiption as far as i use less than 80% of the capacities, but it seems that nobody nknows a real performance...

but what can you tell me about those cases, all have the same performance or the most expensive (TT msi-i) is better??

Cheap raidmaxes and cooler master extreme crap in a box should never be used to power a computer. Search hardwareSecrets and the name of any cooler master extreme power plus model to find a disappointed review, they can generally only do about 60% of what the label claims.

What country are you in? We can't help you find good parts if you don't actually tell us where you are located. We have a list of online vendors to price from that pretty much covers the world

Honestly unless you are going for one of the few high end raidmax units i would steer clear of them and coolermaster, both are foil boxes full of lies and deceit in the lower price ranges.

thank for reply!

i'm from mexico city... i cant belive that to import something from USA is a real mess
i already know that the labels are only references in this products (i know about electricity and electronics), but even so in the best brands i think is not a good idea to push beyond the 80%... talking about the raidmax, it sais in the 12v rails (2) 20A from each one, i wont even use 15A from each with an OC phenom II and an HD7770 or 7790... a frind of mine uses a CM EX 500 for an OC phenom and a HD 5850 since the release and has never failed, the mine has neven failed aswell... but if i could get a corsair CX430 for 40USD i'd buy it (actually them both, the CM and the raidmax are in that price more o less here)

also the TT TR2 models, that are almost the same... i though the guys who certifies PSUs only certifies PSUs that at last can suply what the label of the psu says.... if not well i think i cant trust in any PSU with those certifications as well...

as we can see raidmax has some PSU with bronze and gold so the 500W one is a trully bronze psu (other doubtful have a fake label)

i know that much brands like asrock, roeswill, etc etc, have a bad reputation, but... that bad reputattion aply on all their products??
