Okay guys here's the deal. I moved into an old house for college and the wireless router had to go on floor 2. I get no signal on floor 1 due to the thick walls. After trying numerous crappy plug in wifi repeaters I decided to try an Ethernet powerline adapter. However here is where I am getting stuck. I was able to get a solid connection via homeplug from upstairs to downstairs and I bought a second router (first router is WD N900, second one is WD N750), to use as an access point. Turns out Western Digital's dashboard provides an option to put it in AP mode. So I try that but I about 3-4 times a day the internet will stop working completely (shows the yellow triangle on windows by the network strength indicator), making me have to reset the routers. So After doing more research I decide to try it out of AP mode. So I factory reset the N750, changed the IP to 192.168.1.2 (the main router is 192.168.1.1), and disabled DHCP. Shouldn't this be all I need to do to have it act as an extender? because I have been working on this for a couple of hours and can't for the life of me figure out why it wont connect. Thanks for any help or advice.
