Restarting problem in pc

Whenever i restart my pc it hangs during startup , but when i turnoff pc ans start after 1 or 2 minute it start pefectly, it's annoying? plz help me out guys

Note: this is happening with windowsxp and 7 both

if both operating systems are on the same hard drive it could be that as there maybe a corrupt part on the hard drive and the pc is struggling to read the operating system files

Your PC might be having problem in recognising the OS's, try it with a single OS (delete the less used OS) and report if the problem still persists.
