Need suggestion to upgrade graphics card

Hi, I want to upgrade my graphics card but i don't want to upgrade my main board/ processor..

My pc specs are:
Mainboard: Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 965
GPU: Nvidia GTX 460 1GB
RAM: 4 GB

I don't want my cpu to bottlenecked.. Can any one suggest which Graphics card will support my cpu which can gives better performance then gtx 460..

I wouldn't recommend anything higher than a GTX 660 or 7870, both of which are much more powerful than the 460.

Even with a little bottleneck, they'll still give you much better performance in games, it'll just hold you back in CPU intensive games like Planetside 2, Metro etc.

It would also be a good idea to get 4GB more ram as 8GB is optimal for modern games.

hold back? but how much? willl it give me same performance as my current setup or will give better then my current setup...

for example I am playing crysis 3 which is cpu intensive game and I get 60+ fps at 1080p res on lowest settings.. so if I install hd 7870 will it give me same performance or still it will give better then 460? BTW thanks for your suggestion...

Bottleneck as in it'll still give you much better performance, just that the CPU will hold it back a little so the new card won't be at its full potential.

You should see a nice performance increase in Crysis 3, but it won't be as big as an increase you'd get if you had a better CPU.
