How to prevent files from becoming shortcut in pen drive?

I am using Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 Bit Edition. Yesterday I got virus from a cyber cafe in my pen drive. Whenever I copy any file to my pen drive it become shortcut. But If create a new folder in pen driver and then copy to that folder then nothing happens.

I format the pen drive, no hidden files, scanned with Windows Defender but nothing happened.
Can anybody suggest me any idea to remove this virus from my PC?
There must be some autorun files which is pretending this problem.

Plz help me

Yeah very old virus and is present in nearly all cafes and xerox and copy points here.
You need to install a good Antivirus, I use Kaspersky 2013, on you Win 8.1 rig.
After installation it'll run a scan and cure your rig of the worm/virus, but after that everything that you plug into the rig must first be scanned and then opened. Also remember to avoid such problems never click on the drives directly, use the right click and explore option, double clicking/single clicking on any drive to open it, activates viruses.

Now you don't have to worry about this virus, or don't have to download a very big size Antivirus.
Just Download MSE(Microsoft Security Essential(13-20 MB))
Just update your "Microsoft Security Essential" antivirus and Quick Scan(For fast removal) and Full Scan for Deeply Scan your hard drives and make it virus free.
