I have 16gigs of ram, 3.6 quad core processor and the Nvidia gforce gtx 660ti. Not the best graphics card, I know, but I figured it could handle most things. Newer games seem to crash (I thought it was a Steam issue, but Origin does it as well). I am willing to upgrade my video card but how can I know that will solve the problem? Any help is appreciated!!

Crashing is not going to happen because your graphics card is not fast enough. You are experiencing a malfunction of either hardware or software. It would be best to determine what the problem is before you decide to spend money on new components.
